How TravelCarma helped one of the largest Car Rental Agencies in Australia Transform their Business

2 minute read

Introduction

Not so long ago, we were approached by one of the largest online car rental agencies in Australia, offering rental cars from multiple suppliers including Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europcar and others. They had been running their business manually through an offline booking process.

Looking at the growth of business and the rising competition in the car rental space, they realized the need to offer online bookings through their website.

They wanted to develop an online booking system which would integrate directly with the inventory from Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget etc via web services and allow their customers to make bookings online.

What we did for them

TravelCarma developed an online vehicle booking application, which displays vehicle inventory from multiple suppliers – Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Budget, Thrifty and others.

The Booking Application communicates with TravelCarma’s middleware application ‘DXchange’, which internally communicates with supplier web services to get the inventory and other details.

Once the user selects a particular vehicle the booking happens directly with the supplier’s system.

The new system is highly user friendly and allows users to easily search, compare, book and make payments directly on the website and get instant confirmation on their bookings.

End Result

The client experienced a substantial increase in the number of bookings and revenue after the implementation of the online booking feature.

The new system provided the client great flexibility and scalability in terms of adding new suppliers and offering more options to their end customers.
